Little Moons are frozen and chilled mochi, a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisine – soft and chewy rice flour dough wrapped around balls of ice cream, cheesecake, or chocolate ganache to create a distinctive, bite-sized, and delicious dessert that’s bursting with flavour.

Their rollout across Europe has been pioneered by sister and brother duo Vivien and Howard Wong, who founded Little Moons in 2010.  The product’s roots are in high-end restaurants, but over the last five years retail packs have swept the ice cream category in grocery and food service.

The business has rapidly established mochi, and snacking ice cream across Europe. In FY22 we generated more than £50m in revenue, and in FY23 we are targeting +50% YoY growth.  Based on experience in the USA, mochi ice cream is likely to make up 2-3% of the total ice cream category within 1-2 years.

The Role:

Little Moons is on the lookout for an Inventory Controller, with the energy and passion to help us on our mission of becoming the number one brand for bitesize adventures. This role will report on a day-to-day basis to the Customer Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for supporting the business in realising its ambitious growth plans through the evolution of the Supply Chain through effective business partnering with key stakeholders.

You will be working as a key part of the Supply Chain Team, working with all departments and cross-functional information routes. You will have overall responsibility for accurate reporting of our finished products, packaging and material at our various national and international 3PL sites.

We are looking for an ambitious, skilled individual for this role, with excellent attention detail ready to spot any errors and an ability to think outside of the box to solve data discrepancies. You must enjoy working as part of a team and have a desire to drive the business and yourself forward to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own inventory control procedures to ensure accurate reporting of our Finished Goods, Raw Materials and Packaging across multiple locations and data sources.
  • Develop and implement stock control KPIs and processes to improve accuracy and support availability of our stock.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships across Warehousing, Supply Chain, 3PL sites, and Finance to ensure stock processes are adhered to.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of multiple stock locations to ensure the latest stock position is reflected.
  • Regular systems and physical location audits of stock to maintain accuracy.
  • Own month end and period end stock take processes to ensure working capital is accurately reflected and reported to Supply Finance
  • Take accountability for external site stock takes and reconciliation processes in collaboration with Supply Finance department.
  • Regular visits to our Factory and 3PL Warehouses, with a minimum of one day a week working at our London Factory, working closely with the warehouse team.
  • Undertake root-cause analysis of stock issues and work with the relevant stakeholders to resolve and build effective processes to prevent in future.
  • Proactively manage and report on slow moving and obsolete items to minimise stock write offs.
  • Drive cross functional accountability on inventory related matters.
  • Continuous improvement focus attitude and implement best practice inventory procedures.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Inventory Controller role or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with and analysing large data sets.
  • Ability to summarise data and present to senior stakeholders to bolster decision making.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Proven experience of implementing and documenting processes.
  • Comfortable working independently or with stakeholders across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of best practice inventory or stock procedures.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Sage or other ERP systems.
  • FMCG experience would be advantageous.
